How To – Clean Ukulele Finishes, Parts & Hardware – Trade Secret

Video Posted on Updated on

Here is another video from the experts at StewMac this time about cleaning various guitar & ukulele components & finishes, using low-budget Naphtha (Lighter Fluid) which can usually be bought from your local £/99p store or supermarket.

With a little 3 in 1 oil added (which can be purchased from the same or similar places), it can be used to clean and lubricate ukulele geared machine heads.

Just be wary of any glued areas or adhesive used in constructing the ukulele as Naphtha is a solvent and can dissolve some adhesives.
