Video Posted on Updated on

As promised in my previous blog post “How To – Repair Crack In Ukulele Body Wood“, here is my post on finishing your ukulele with French Polish.

Firstly a great video tutorial from Robert O’Brien of O’Brien Guitars on the benefits and technique used in How To – DIY Mix Shellac From Flake. Giving you instruction on proportions of shellac to alcohol and with a great tip on how to check the freshness of your shellac and if it is still good to use.

Secondly this fantastic video from Stephen McLean on How To – DIY French Polish Ukulele shows you the entire process of French polishing ukulele. With tips on how to make your own French polish rubber, ratios of shellac to alcohol and linseed oil, pore filling, how to protect your ukulele while applying shellac and the overall process of applying shellac to the ukulele, sanding the ukulele and finishing the entire ukulele French polish procedure.
