When marking out on darker wood it is always advisable to use a white pencil over and above a normal graphite pencil. White pencils leave a much more visible line on darker wood and if used over your marking out with a scalpel or marking knife it will highlight your cut.
These particular pencils are sold as a pack of 12 Chinagraph Pencils, which are predominantly used to mark shiny surfaces such as glass and ceramics. This means that they can be sharpened to a fine point and are more durable than chalk pencils, soft artist’s pencils and the peel-off types you can buy. As you will probably be using white pencils a lot for marking out on dark wood this is another cost which is worth keeping low. At approximately 63p each these work out as a pretty good buy in the long run.
Here is the best price I could find for said White Pencils as they seem to be quite a rarity for less than £1 each (which to me is expensive for a pencil).
